1

A token premieres with a vault

The launcher creates the token on pump.fun in one transaction. Its vault is the on-chain creator, so every creator fee lands in the vault. The launcher can split the first buy between their wallet and opening night stock for the shelf.

2

The keeper runs every minute

It claims creator fees, adds up what every open window could owe, and spends everything above that, plus a small gas floor, on buybacks. Bought tokens go on the shelf.

3

You take one home

At the live price, with no curve slippage. One transaction sends your SOL to the vault, the desk fee to the treasury, and the tokens to you. The vault co-signs and pays the network fee. You pick your rental period right here.

4

You decide

Keep: sign a message, the window closes, and you get a 2% token bonus if the shelf has stock. Backsies: send back all or part of the tokens and get your share of the SOL you paid for that part, in the same transaction.

Questions at the counter

Is this a full refund?▶

No. Backsies pays 60, 75 or 90% of the SOL you paid, depending on the cover you picked. Returning always realizes a loss on the part you send back. The upside is that the payout does not depend on the price, so a crash inside your window costs you at most that share.

Where does the refund come from?▶

From the token's vault. When you buy, your SOL goes into the vault. The refund share of it stays locked there until your window closes, and the keeper never spends locked SOL on buybacks. Each token page shows the vault balance next to what it owes.

What happens when the window runs out?▶

The position is kept automatically. Your tokens stay in your wallet and the locked SOL is freed for buybacks.

Can I sell the tokens on pump.fun instead?▶

Yes, they are normal tokens in your wallet. To call backsies you need to hold the tokens you are returning, so if you sell them you can only return what you still have.

Why is there a 10% cap per buy?▶

So one wallet cannot empty the stock. Each buy can take at most a tenth of what the vault has available.

What does the desk fee pay for?▶

A 1% fee on purchases goes to the Backsies treasury. Creator fees and the kept share of every purchase stay in the token's vault and only buy that token back.

Who holds the vault keys?▶

Backsies does. Every vault is derived from one server key, signs only the transactions described here, and its balance is public on chain. Treat it like any custodial desk and size accordingly.

What if a transaction gets stuck?▶

Purchases and returns are one transaction each, co-signed by the vault and paid for by the vault. Either the whole swap lands or nothing moves. A keeper checks every pending one each minute.
